PENDULUM-TYPE WAVES AND PROCESS FOR THEIR DIFFERENTIATION FROM LARGE EARTHQUAKES IN RECORDINGS OF. A. LASER DEMOGRAPHER

ABSTRACT: Special research was undertaken to find a slow strain pendulum-type wave, which accompanies a strong close-distance earthquake as an earthquake effect. The analysis of a laser-recorded deformation and the after-shock activity of a number of strong seismic events in the Baikal rift zone enabled to detect a slow strain wave in the velocity range within ~0.43–1.76 m/s.

ABSTRACT: The complex procedure for forecasting earthquake-prone zones is presented, and the results of its adaptation to the Khabinsky rock mass are reported. The combination of different prognostic criteria makes it possible to identify earthquake zones with a variable configuration and location when stresses in a rock mass are redistributed under man-induced mining impacts.

ABSTRACT: The geomechanical monitoring system based on the data of the remote Earth’s surface sensing is proposed. The procedure for obtaining the wanted information is described. It is outlined that the systematic analysis of data on the remote Earth sensing is not so far practiced to solve the mine safety problems due to development of the proper distributed intellectual geoinformation medium.

ABSTRACT: Conditions for loss of the cone-shaped pit wall stability are identified. The character of a rock mass displacement is established within the frame of a rigid-plastic body. An angle of pit slope to horizon, angle of stratum dip, area of pit bottom, material properties are accounted. The maximum pit depth is calculated. The problem is solved in terms of axisymmetric deformation.

ABSTRACT: The deep survey-plug station based on micrometric optoelectronic position-sensing transducers is described in brief. The configuration of the distributed multi-processor system for control of the peripheral rock parting around mine workings, displacements of layers and rock blocks in depth under rock-pressure manifestation within a structurally-heterogeneous stressed rock mass are considered. Advantages and main specifications of the multi-processor measurement system are outlined.

The local finite-element model of a wall-section with vertical benches is constructed.

ABSTRACT: The calculation data on stress fields nearby two closely located fractures in a plain statement are reported. Dependences between stress intensity coefficients and external pressure, internal fracture pressure and geometry of fractures are established. The zone of an existing fracture influence on a new-formed one is identified from the available data. The paths of new-developed fractures in the zone of the existing fissure influence are plotted.

The configuration of the probe, base support, metrological stand and system-technical solutions providing communication access are presented.

ABSTRACT: The analysis of new-developed technological mineralogy methods is given. The role and peculiarities of ore treatment by non-mechanical energy effects such as: plasma treatment, mechanical activation, nano-structuring are identified. It is shown that the accelerated-electron treatment weakens a mineral raw material, modifies its flotation properties and intensifies magnetic properties of iron-containing sulfide materials.

ABSTRACT: Geoecological problems in the Spitak earthquake epicenter zone are considered. The preliminary list of conditions and factors fostering the development of unfavorable subterrial processes, which are stemmed from underground worked-out mining areas and voids, located in the central district of the city, is reviewed based on the analysis of available geological, geophysical, and geotechnical information.

RE-DEVELOPMENT OF DEEP TECHNOGENIC PLACER FORMATIONS IN PERMAFROST ZONE BY THE HYDRAULIC WASHING-OUT MINING PROCESS

ABSTRACT: The process is proposed for two-staged underground extraction of pillars at worked-out placer mines in permafrost zones by using the hydraulic washing-out mining technology with the follow-up erection of artificial ice-rock masses in these sites. The authors report the process flowsheets and the research results obtained from the mathematical models, developed to calculate process parameters.

ABSTRACT: Regularities underlying the formation of technogenic hydrosphere in the course of the 50-years exploitation of the silicate-nickel ore deposit in the Southern Ural are considered. Flooding of the open pit worsened the pit water quality, effected by the residual ore, rich in nickel and cobalt, within the active water exchange zone.

ABSTRACT: Research data are reported on arsenic removal from water media by sorption with the use of a natural mineral brucite. The higher arsenate removal efficiency is shown. Psilomelan is considered as a catalyzer of the arsenite oxidation, and this agent is concluded to promote appreciably higher toxicant recovery in the study process.

FLOWSHEET FOR FLOTATION AND METALLURGICAL PROCESSING OF THE REBELLIOUS GOLD-ARSENIC ORE

ABSTRACT: The material composition of a primary gold-arsenic ore specimen is studied. The research data on gravity concentration, flotation and cyanidation are presented. The prime attention is focused on the flotation and metallurgical processing scheme with preliminary gravity recovery of a course-size gold fraction. This flowsheet is proved to be the most effective one with the total gold yield of 80.46%.

ROLE OF THE PHYSICAL FORM OF FLOTATION-COLLECTOR SORPTION

ABSTRACT: Properties of a flotation agent can be optimized by studying the gas bubble — mineral particle interaction and identifying the role of each of reagent-sorption forms, available in the study interaction process. The author proposes the mechanism for the physical sorption form when a mineral particle is fixed onto a gas bubble and the criteria to evaluate the flotation activity of a reagent. Validity of the proposed mechanism is confirmed by experimental evidence.

ABSTRACT: Scientific essence of the high-speed heap gold leaching is briefed on. The activating mechanism of cyanide gold leaching is confirmed under conditions when the ore under maturation is pelletized by oxygen-saturated sodium cyanide containing solutions of the «efficient» or acting sodium cyanide concentration. The theoretical findings can be employed to design or to explore the acting heap gold leaching plants.
